Milledgeville volleyball sweeps East Dubuque to reach first regional final since 2016, Galena beats Eastland — Elmhurst Sports news

The Milledgeville volleyball team has just one senior. Two freshmen and a sophomore are significant contributors. Understandably, there are some nerves as the games get bigger in the postseason. However, the Missiles shook those off Wednesday night after an early deficit to sweep East Dubuque 25-17, 25-16. The third-seeded Missiles (28-8) advanced to face second-seeded Galena at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Class 1A West Carroll Regional final. It’s the first time Milledgeville has reached a regional final since 2016. Falling down 4-0 to the Warriors (17-9-1) in the first set, coach Kurt Folk took timeout.“After that timeout, we fought back,” said Lexis Grenoble, who finished with 19 assists and five digs. “We wanted it really bad.”A Kennedy Livengood kill off a Lexis Grenoble assist finished Milledgeville s sweep of East Dubuque in a 1A West Carroll Regional semifinal matchup pic.twitter.com/5GoQ1vu905 Drake Lansman (@Drake_Lansman) October 29, 2026Milledgeville has not won a regional title
