An all-out individual effort by Mason Bray, along with some downfield help from his teammates, turned the tide in Fulton’s thrilling 28-24 win over Newman on Saturday afternoon in the Class 1A playoffs. Taking over at their own 23-yard-line down three with no timeouts and 2:15 to play, Steamers quarterback Easton Spooner found Bray over the middle on first down. The electric 65-yard gain down to the 12 set up the Steamers’ go ahead touchdown, a one-yard TD plunge from Teague Bray with 51 seconds left.Freshman Brantley Easley sealed the win with an interception as the Comets had one last heave from the Fulton 36. With the win, Fulton punched its ticket to the quarterfinals and a rematch at Stockton next Saturday.“We’re never a team to give up, we know who we are, truly,” Mason Bray said. “
